Tracking notifications from Australia Post

Your customers’ experience doesn’t end at the checkout. We know that being kept in the loop is important to them. 

Your customers will be given their tracking number and the date their parcel is expected to be delivered – as well as the chance to choose how and where they’d like to receive it. 

We recommend that you include an email and mobile number in your order, this way your customer will receive a combination of email and SMS updates regarding the delivery.

NOTE:  Tracking notifications from Australia Post may vary. Australia Post notifications to end customers are as follows:

  1. Email "We’ve got your delivery details" - This is the first notification sent to consumers when Australia Post has confirmed receipt of the manifest. This does not necessarily mean Australia Post has received the item, but it will let the customer know that we are aware of it and they will receive further notifications when it’s on its way.

  2. Email "It’s on its way" - When the parcel is first scanned into the network. An estimated delivery date lets your customer know when to expect it. This notification also provides the opportunity for customers to request leave the parcel in a safe place or they can redirect the parcel to a post locker or post office to collect it from.

  3. "SMS Notification" A day before the parcel is expected to arrive (SMS is sent instead if a mobile number is present). This provides the opportunity for customers to request the parcel in a safe place or they can redirect the delivery to a different address if the service selected and destination address allows it.

  4. "SMS Notification" On the morning of delivery for street addressed parcels which have a “Signature Required or “Signature with Authority To Leave” service, if the customer has not already requested Leave it in a safe place. 

  5. Email "Your Order Is ready to pick up from the local Post Office". The link provides details of the location of the Post Office and opening hours. If delivery is not collected within 5 business days a reminder is sent.

  6. "Email Notification" Has been delivered to the address or collected by your customer

Please note: Tracking notifications are referenced as coming From: Wine Depot. This cannot be changed or personalised to your company name. 

We recommend letting your customers know that 
"Wine Depot is our logistics partner" via email or in your checkout. This way when your customer places the order and receives the tracking notifications they understand it's coming from Wine Depot.
