What happens to orders when the inventory stock isn't available?

What happens to orders when the inventory stock isn't available?

If you process an order and there is no stock available it will go to Back-orders you can see Back-orders from the dashboard or from the Orders menu. 

Your order will remain in the system and get 'flushed out' as soon as stock has been replenished in the depot for the order.
