eBay FAQ's

How do I publish my products to eBay?

Publishing your wines for sale on eBay can be done in a few clicks. Please see a step by step guide here.

Where can I find the eBay store?

Check out our store here: https://www.ebay.com.au/str/winedepotau

New products are being added daily and listed in real-time!

Can I sell beer, cider, spirits and mixers on eBay?

Only wine can be sold via Ebay currently but we will open this up to other beverages in the future on a case by case basis.

What is your sales commission if I sell my products on eBay?

The sales commission on the total sale price is 30%.

Do I incur any freight, packaging, or fulfillment costs on eBay orders?

All fulfillment, pick/ pack and customer service costs are covered by us. All delivery costs are included in your commission rate charged by WineDepot.

Can I limit what states my product is sold in?

No. All products made available on eBay must be available to be sold nationally (excluding dry zones). Note that although shipping rates vary, it does not impact the payout to suppliers. Shipping costs are negotiated between WineDepot and Ebay and do not come out of your payouts.

Will our products be shipped nationally?

Yes to all metro areas excluding TAS and NT.

Can I sell my products by the case or by the bottle on eBay?

For launch we plan to offer eBay buyers the chance to purchase single bottles only as we identified this as being a gap for consumers who purchase wine from eBay. We will evaluate the potential for straight case sales in 2022.

What promotional or sponsored listing strategies will WineDepot run that may benefit my products?

This is something we intend on working very closely with our suppliers on in the coming months as we partner with our eBay promotional and advertising team on product placement throughout the store.

How long will it take for my products to appear on eBay, once I have published them on Connect?

Your products go through a speedy approval process you could expect to see new products we submit via our API live on eBay within 24-72 hours. If you find your listing is taking longer than 72 hours to appear, please get in touch so that we can escalate with eBay.

How can I improve the visibility or ranking of my wine in eBay?

eBay is a reviews based platform that is heavily favoured towards eBay stores, like WINERY DIRECT,  that have accumulated a large number of 5 star positive reviews, and the quality of those reviews. So products inside a store like WINERY DIRECT, that has a majority of 5 star ratings which are heavily weighted as positive, will have more exposure. One option is to encourage your database of customers to experience the eBay WINERY DIRECT store and leave a positive review following their purchase.
